ARTED Participated in HTAi 2026 Conference!
The HTAi Annual Congress, one of the most prestigious international platforms in the field of Health Technology Assessment (HTA), was held in Istanbul between 6–10 June 2026. Organized under the theme “HTA as a System Shaper,” the congress brought together experts from around the world to address critical topics such as the sustainability of healthcare systems, access to innovative technologies, health economics, artificial intelligence, digital health, and evidence-based decision-making processes. The congress highlighted that HTA is not only a tool for evaluating technologies, but also a strategic policy mechanism that shapes the future of healthcare systems.
Hosted by Türkiye, the event provided a significant platform for strengthening knowledge exchange and collaboration among public authorities, academia, patient representatives, international organizations, and industry stakeholders. Throughout the congress, numerous high-level sessions were held focusing on equity, sustainability, innovation, and patient-centered approaches in healthcare systems.
ARTED participated in this important event, with ARTED Chairman of the Board Gürdal Şahin in attendance. ARTED Secretary General Ferda Bayşu served on the Congress Organizing Committee and also participated as a speaker in the session titled “Redesigning HTA in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: From Policy to Clinical Practice,” held on 9 June 2026 and moderated by Prof. Dr. Haluk Özsarı, Chair of DETESADER. The session addressed the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in the assessment of health technologies, the interaction between policy-making and clinical practice, and the future of data-driven healthcare systems. It stood out as a highly attended scientific platform where multi-stakeholder perspectives on the future of AI-supported HTA approaches were shared.
We Discussed the Future and Came Together in the Same Frame!
As ARTED, with the support of ARTED Chairman of the Board Gürdal Şahin, we participated in the congress together with our Board of Directors and actively engaged in key discussions and stakeholder meetings. Valuable insights were shared during the panels addressing “Value-Based Management of Health Technologies,” one of the Association’s top priorities. The sessions, organized with the participation of Turkish public stakeholders and the support of our member companies, fostered productive and meaningful discussions on this important topic.
In addition, panels on “AI-Driven Innovation in Health Technologies,” “Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for Medical Devices in Türkiye,” “Rethinking Reimbursement and Access,” and “Redesigning HTA in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” featured distinguished speakers from our member sponsor companies, including Emily Woodward (Boston Scientific), Görkey Turgut Ergazi (Medtronic), Tülin Gündem (Smith+Nephew), Gamze Arbak (Philips), and Ferda Bayşu (ARTED). Through their contributions, health technology assessment was explored from multiple perspectives, highlighting both current challenges and future opportunities. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our panelists for their valuable contributions, dedication, and support.
