ARTED–TÜSEB Online Meeting Held.

The online meeting planned between ARTED and TÜSEB was held virtually on Monday, 2 March 2026. The meeting was attended by TÜSEB Vice Presidents Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Sarğın and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilmi Erdem Sümbül, along with the TÜSEB expert team. On behalf of ARTED,  Secretary General Ferda Bayşu, and ARTED member representatives participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, it was strongly emphasized that clinical research on medical devices is a strategically important area that can be further developed in Türkiye. It was noted that, with the recently issued regulations and updated legislative framework, the process is expected to become more holistic, and that eliminating existing uncertainties in practice will contribute to a more predictable clinical research ecosystem.

TÜSEB stated that it is ready to take an active role in the guideline development process planned for clinical research on medical devices and expressed its openness to close collaboration with ARTED in order to shape the process in line with sectoral needs. Furthermore, it was highlighted that, to ensure an efficient and results-oriented process, it would be appropriate to establish a core working group consisting of technically competent representatives, with the inclusion of the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency.  It was assessed that this structure would bring together regulatory, implementation, and field experience at the same table, enabling the development of a strong reference document that systematically outlines medical device clinical research processes in Türkiye, including comparative analyses and operational guidance.
